Getting to Costa Rica

To San Jose (SJO) -- All major airlines -- then a 35-minute flight by small plane to Nosara on choice of 2 regional carriers SANSA or NatureAir. The drive is approximately 4.5 hours if you are thinking about driving.

To Liberia (LIR) -- All major airlines -- then a 2-hour drive to our house or 20 min flight by small plane to Nosara on a private charter flight. The people at Nosara Travel will help you arrange this charter flight. This is a newly available option from Liberia, and I highly recommend it. You can charter a plane according to the size of your group and it's only a 20 minute flight and very reasonable rate.

Traveling in Costa Rica

I recommend using Nosara Travel to book your travel plans in-country. They can take care of everything and are very very good!!!!!!

If you wish to hire a driver with a van, drive yourself in a van, rent a 4X4, rent a car or fly to Nosara on a charter you should check them out!!! They also manage Casa de Sueño for me, and will be there to assist you with check-in, and everything else.

You may also decide to rent a car once you are in Nosara. There is a new National Car Rental right in Nosara that will deliver the car to the house.

From Liberia

We're a 2-hour drive from Liberia. If you drive yourself (all the rental car agencies have Liberia offices), just head west from the airport, follow the signs to Santa Cruz, then Nicoya, The road you're on going into Nicoya continues straight through the main commercial center of the town and comes out the other side (with a slight bearing to the left). This is the road you will take to Nosara -- just stay on it. You'll pass through small towns: Curime, Caimital -- where there's a stop sign, a T, and you turn right.

About 20 miles out of Nicoya, just past the Castrol gas station (on the left, where you should, right now, stop and fill up your tank if you didn't do it back at the bridge turnoff), the paved road curves left. There's a fork off to the right onto a dirt/gravel road which you will take. This road varies from bad to worse with several one-lane bridges over gullies that may or may not have water in them.

At about 23 miles there's a good bridge, and at 23.4 miles another. At about 25.5 miles the road comes to a T. Go right, following signs to Garza and Nosara. At about 29.5 miles you're at Garza. Bear right, with the road, and continue through Garza parallel to the ocean on your left.

At about 34 miles you'll see a large "Pilsen" sign at Café de Paris on your left, and Coconut Harry's surf shop on your right. Do not turn yet. A little further you will see Giardino Tropical. Turn Left down this road. Continue down for approx. 250 meters. Nosara Travel will be on your right, where you will pick up your keys. Condo Canadiense will be across the street, and there will be a dead-end in front of you, which is the beach (la playa). You have arrived!!!!

From Town of Nosara or Nosara Airport

From the airport entrance head into the small Town of Nosara. At the end of the soccer field turn left. Follow this road for a couple of miles always following the signs for Garza or Nicoya. Turn Right at the Giardino Tropical. Follow the road down toward the beach. At the dead end, Nosara Travel will be on your right. Across from the Condo Canadiensse. Pick up your keys at Nosara Travel, they will be waiting for you.
